Not only is it powered by an AMD chipset, but it also brings an amazing array of features to the table. The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 bundles AMD Ryzen 3000 series mobile processor and packs up to 16GB of RAM for starters. It’s further accompanied by long battery life and light but solid build. The launch date isn’t too far in the future with Acer promising these units to be available around February, 2021 in the US.

Another exciting innovation at CES 2021 is the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 i. This one bundles a clever design and brings a dual-screen laptop to the table. Unlike the Asus ZenBook Duo, which had a screen on top of the keyboard, this one bundles an entirely different screen on its outer lid. And if that was not enough, this screen is an e-Ink panel, thereby letting you browse long documents and papers without straining the eyes. Other than that, this one is a full-powered business laptop with high-end specs such as 11th Gen Intel Core processors, fingerprint sensors, Thunderbolt 4 ports, and Dolby Atmos support, among others. The ThinkBook Plus laptops will go on sale around the first quarter of 2021, and as you may have guessed, these will have premium price tags.

Another Chromebook to join the lineup is the new Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2. The successor to last year’s Ferrari-red Galaxy Chromebook, the new Chromebook manages to pack quite a few strings in its quiver. It’s powered by a Celeron processor and packs in 4GB of RAM along with 64GB built-in storage and long battery life. However, the feature that sets it apart from the rest is its 13.3-inch QLED display. Thankfully, unlike its predecessor, it’s unlikely to cost a ton and is available for pre-order now.

TCL has always been known for its array of TVs that provide a value for money proposition. So, what’s exciting about the TCL 6-Series? The TCL 6-Series will have mini-LED (OD Zero Mini LED) backlighting and sport an 8K resolution. Woah, right? If you must know, the mini-LED backlighting tech plays a big role in enhancing the overall brightness and contrast of the TV while keeping the TV’s thickness to a minimum. The 8K addition to the TCL 6-Series was not the only exciting thing at CES 2021. This company is also set to launch its TCL XL Collection. These TVs will not only sport a huge screen but will also sport an 8K resolution. The price of the TCL 6-series 8K TVs is expected to be in the affordable section and should be available toward the latter half of 2021. Exciting, I must say?

5. Google TV

Wait. What? Google TV? After Android TV, the brand is here with its new streaming system. This smart platform, which is also present in the new Google Chromecast stick, will also be present in some new smart TVs from TCL and Sony (2021 Bravia XR TV). If we jump into details, Google TV will bring over 6,000 apps and over 30 streaming services. More importantly, it will also bring Google-flavored (read accurate) recommendations to the table. Cool, right?

360-degree sound is here to stay with Sony teasing two wireless speakers this year at CES 2021. The speakers, SRS-RA5000 and SRS-RA3000, will support the proprietary 360 Reality Audio by packs smart assistants and voice commands. The former packs a set of three up-firing speakers and three side speakers, which combine to give you a surround sound experience. And hey, it bundles a woofer also. For those uninitiated, 360 Reality Audio brings an immersive audio experience by bringing in a surround sound effect. For now, this feature is also available on Sony’s wireless earphones, such as the Sony WF-SP800N (see Sony WF-SP800N vs. Jabra Elite 75t). More importantly, both the speakers pack a premium look and come with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. They are compatible with Spotify Connect and have Chromecast built-in. Both the SRS-RA5000 and SRS-RA3000 will be available in February.

Now, it’s 2021, and it’s time for the rollable phone to make its mark. Introduced by LG in CES 2021, this concept phone extends into a tablet-like shape with the screen rolling outwards. And when the job’s done, it rolls back to a conventional smartphone shape. It’s worth to be noted that the idea of the rollable phone was first teased by LG back in 2020. While details are scarce at the moment, this concept phone is expected to be a reality by the end of this year.

The CES 2021 also saw Belkin bring another wireless charger to the foyer. Aimed for Apple users, this wireless charger packs MagSafe support and is built to provide around 15W of power for the phone. This 2-in-1 charger also bundles a neat wireless charging base at the bottom to juice up your AirPods Pro, AirPods, or your other iPhone at 5W. While the MagSafe support is a welcome addition, especially for people who love trying out new products, this one also sports a cool look. It has a small base, which means you can fit it in a tight space. For now, the Belkin BoostCharge will be available from March or April.

Simple, right? Of course, the MagSafe grips’ base is bigger than their conventional counterparts, but they will be worth the shot if you ask me.
